Mahan/National JV with “King Kong”
When Roy Cummins of National Engineering & Contracting, Strongsville, OH needed to temporarily replace their ailing green vibro, he called APE Northeast for King Kong. Mahan/National JV are driving large diameter caissons for the new Mason Pomeroy bridge in Pomeroy,OH. King Kong continued to work even after National’s vibro was repaired.

Conti Enterprises’ new APE 200 Vibro
The NJ Turnpike Seaview Drive job in Secaucus, NJ was the site of Conti’s 200 Vibro inaugural. Also working on the job is their Vulcan 506, purchased as a package with the vibro, and another APE 200 vibro on rent.

APE D62-22 Diesel Hammer with Schiavone in the Raritan Bay
Schiavone Construction of Secaucus, NJ recently used the APE D62-22 Diesel Hammer mounted in an APE 43″ Bottom Drive leader system to drive 48″ diameter steel pipe piles. The piles were installed under the Rt. 9 Bridge in Perth Amboy, NJ, recently renovated by Schiavone. Weight and expediency were critical in this application. Working under the bridge limited crane size and the contractor needed to perform the work quickly. Kudos to Bernie DeLargey of Rush and Parker for the assist.

RCC Pile and Foundation Inc., a division of Railroad Construction Co. Inc. of Paterson NJ is pictured with the APE 200 Vibro driving PZ27 sheet pile. Conti Enterprises Goes APE in Secaucus, NJ
Conti Enterprises uses the APE Model 200 Vibro to drive 40′ sheet pile for the Seaview Drive job in Secaucus, NJ. Pile driving superintendent Nestor Martinez says, “The 200 has always given us great production. Bottom line: the APE 200 Vibro helps Conti make money. That’s why we decided to buy one.”
The new vibro will be delivered to Secaucus in early December, 2003.

Creamer Environmental Chooses the APE 150 Vibro
When Creamer Environmental (of the J. Fletcher Creamer and Son, Inc. companies) of Hackensack, NJ was contracted to clean up a polluted industrial site in Atlantic Highlands NJ, they called APE Northeast for the APE Model 150 Vibro. Pile driving superintendent John Smestadt knew from previous rentals that the 150 is “a hard hitting hammer” and would be the tool of choice for 25′ steel sheet pile.
J. Fletcher Creamer and Son Inc. is a successful, well respected construction company that knows how perfectly APE equipment is suited for their pile driving work.
APE sends entire staff to the DFI in Florida
APE sent its entire sales staff to the Deep Foundations Institute Meeting in Miami. J&M’s staff also attended, including King Evarts, the inventor of the ICE vibro and John Konwick, sales and parts manager for J&M. APE and Junttan have agreed that APE will provide support for Junttan products in the USA market. APE also announced that Moody and Sons will represent APE, joining Drivecon and Hercules as strong distributors with unlimited territory.
APE announced that it’s rental fleet is now the largest in the world and pointed out that its nearest competition, ICE, has withdrawn forces in Houston and California. In addition, APE has expanded into Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.
APE introduced its new variable moment machines and a new wave program that is user friendly.
